TICAD Games Miyazaki 2026 announced as the Second Official Edition
Following the success of Yokohama 2025, the TICAD Games Organising Committee announces Miyazaki 2026 as the second official edition — marking the 70th anniversary of Tunisia–Japan diplomatic relations.
Second Official Edition · 70th Anniversary of Tunisia–Japan Diplomatic Relations
The TICAD Games Organising Committee today announces Miyazaki 2026 as the second official edition of the TICAD Games, the official People-to-People event of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development.
The Miyazaki edition will mark the 70th anniversary of Tunisia–Japan diplomatic relations, an axis that has anchored the TICAD Games movement since the first edition in Tunis 2022. Programme dates and the full schedule will be announced alongside the TICAD calendar in the months ahead.
Building on Yokohama 2025
Yokohama 2025 was the first official edition, hosted at Yokohama Budokan in August 2025 alongside TICAD 9. It featured the inaugural international Kendō tournament, a Bushidō symposium, and Taiko performances — drawing delegations from Africa, Japan, and TICAD Partner countries.
Miyazaki 2026 will continue the three-pillar format — Budō · Culture · Innovation — while expanding the cultural and educational tracks consistent with TICAD's wider mission.
