TICAD Games officially recognized as a TICAD Partner Project

TICAD Partner Project — From TICAD 9 in Yokohama onwards

From TICAD 9 in Yokohama onwards, the TICAD Games are officially recognised by the Tokyo International Conference on African Development as a Partner Project — joining the formal People-to-People programme of TICAD.

This recognition acknowledges the role TICAD Games has played since 2022 — across three Tunisian editions (Tunis 2022, Tunis 2023, Tunis 2024) — in mainstreaming youth and grassroots populations into the TICAD process, and complementing educational initiatives such as the ABE Initiative, GHRD, G-STREAMS, GPS Learning, and G-PISTE.

What it means

  • Yokohama 2025 is the first official edition under the Partner Project recognition
  • Miyazaki 2026 is announced as the second official edition
  • TICAD Games may now formally use the TICAD 9 Partner Project mark across communications
